Joe Plenzler, MA

Executive Coach and Leadership Development Facilitator

Joe Plenzler is an ICF-certified executive leadership coach and communication expert who partners with leaders to navigate complexity, strengthen executive presence, and translate strategy into meaningful action through people. At Performance Plus International, Inc. (PPI), Joe works with senior leaders and high-potential executives to enhance clarity, alignment, resilience, and leadership effectiveness in high-stakes environments.

Joe brings more than 25 years of experience across government, nonprofit, corporate, and association sectors, with deep expertise in executive coaching, organizational change, communication strategy, and leadership development. His coaching approach integrates emotional intelligence, neuroscience, health and wellness, and persuasive communication to help leaders increase self-awareness, improve decision-making, and lead with confidence and authenticity.

Prior to his coaching career, Joe served 20 years as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, retiring honorably as a Lieutenant Colonel. His service included five years at the Pentagon as a strategic advisor to the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CEO-level), where he advised senior leaders on communication, reputation management, and high-visibility national issues. He has also held senior leadership roles in nonprofit and membership-based organizations and has advised leaders across sectors including biotechnology, government, financial services, education, and advocacy organizations.

Joe holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies and is an ICF Certified Coach.  He is also accredited by the Public Relations Society of America and has completed advanced training in executive coaching, facilitation, organizational change, and health and wellness coaching through Georgetown University.
